Reeths-Puffer closed regular season play with a 13-3 win over Rockford Wednesday.
The second game of a planned doubleheader was rained out.
The
Rockets (22-10) trailed 2-0 before exploding for seven runs in the
fourth inning. R-P kept scoring and ended the game in the sixth by mercy
rule.
Kyleigh Bilek began the avalanche with an RBI single,
and later in the inning Aubrey Clark, Lorelei Herrygers, Abbie
Critchett, Lainey McDaniel and Tessa Ross had consecutive RBI hits;
Clark, Herrygers and Ross hit doubles. Clark delivered the game-ending
hit in the sixth.
Critchett and Bilek each got three hits, and
Clark, McDaniel and Ross had two apiece. Mady Snyder got the win in the
circle, allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out five.
