The Ladder Community Center will be the beneficiary of this summer’s first “Chair-ity” fundraiser put on by St. Stephen’s Lutheran of Shelby. Specially painted Adirondack chairs on display at various locations throughout Oceana County this summer were auctioned off at this year’s Shelby Fruit Festival last weekend. Prior to the auction, the community was invited to vote for their favorite design. Proceeds from Saturday’s auction totalled $1,770 and will be donated to The Ladder for future programming. Thank you to everyone who visited chair locations, voted for their favorites and/or purchased chairs!
