Reeths-Puffer opened its season Tuesday at the Calvary Christian
Invitational, and senior Jersi Bilek starred for the Rockets with a win
in the Division 1 girls' race.
Bilek easily secured a win in
the race with a time of 20:09.9, leading the Rockets to a third-place
finish out of the four D-1 teams to compete.
Darcy Keefe also
placed in the top 10 for the Rockets, taking sixth (23:48.8). Kaitlyn
Durow was 11th (24:26.5). Closing the R-P scoring were Olivia Yonkman
(33rd, 30:06.4) and Maddie Horenziak (34th, 32:12.7).
The
Rocket boys placed fourth, with Dylan Sturr the team's top finisher.
Sturr took 12th place in a time of 19:06.3. Freshman Landon Learn
debuted with a 24th-place finish (20:09.9), and fellow freshman Gabriel
Luna placed 29th (20:53.7). Kyron Novak finished 41st (22:06.9) and
Zayden Kingman was 50th (23:47.1).
