Hart was impressive on defense Wednesday night against Newaygo and secured a 51-26 victory.
The Pirates were without top scorer Jagger Lenon due to injury and struggled on offense, shooting just over 33% from the field, but made up for it with a strong effort on defense, stifling the Lions into a 10-of-44 effort.
The Pirates were in control from the start, building a double-digit lead in the first quarter, and led 31-8 at halftime. Luke VanderWilk scored 10 points, and six other players had at least four.
Miguel Escamilla had seven rebounds and five assists to go with seven points, and Caleb Ackley blocked six shots, had eight boards and added five steals to go with his seven points.
