Hart finished fourth among Division 3-4 schools Friday night at the Aquinas Cheer Invitational, scoring 616.84 points.
Seventeen varsity teams in all competed in the meet, nine of them in the Division 3-4 group.
The
Pirates would have finished at least one spot higher but for 18 penalty
points they accrued over the final two rounds. Hart would have passed
Newaygo and been less than a point behind second-place Mason County
Central if it could have avoided those penalties.
Hart got off
to a very good start, scoring 194.4 points to finish third among the
Division 3-4 schools in the first round. The penalties led to a slower
finish to the meet, with 174.04 points in round two - though that still
finished third - and 248.4 points in round three.
