Hart lost to Division 2 squad Spring Lake twice in Wednesday's doubleheader, 12-5 and 11-1.
The Pirates (2-2) scored three times in the fifth inning of game one to pull within a run, 6-5. Sydney Bateson had the big hit of the inning, an RBI single - one of three hits for Hart in that frame. However, the Lakers pulled away over the remaining two innings.
Makenna Carrier got three hits in the opener, and Caydence Bateson had two. Each scored two runs. Reese Smith struck out 10 in six innings, allowing four earned runs.
The visiting Lakers dominated game two, scoring multiple runs in four of the five innings. Smith got two hits, one of them a triple and Leah Walker drove in Hart's only run with her own triple.
