Montague routed Kent City Thursday, 20-8, for its first win of the season. The second game of a planned doubleheader was not played.
The Wildcats exploded for seven runs in the second inning, five in the third and eight in the fourth despite getting only eight hits. Montague also drew 10 walks as a team.
Cooper Bradley, Eli Petersen and Dylan Bailey each got two hits in the game. Bailey drove in four runs, and Fletcher Thommen and Cole Herremans plated a pair.
Caleb Rice got the win, allowing two earned runs in four innings. He struck out seven. Cole Moss fanned a pair in a scoreless inning of relief.
