Whitehall and Reeths-Puffer each competed at the Grand Valley State Laker Challenge large-school girls indoor meet Thursday, opening their seasons.
There was a boys indoor meet Wednesday, but R-P's Evan McHugh was the only athlete from either school with results listed on Athletic.net, placing XXth in long jump.
The Rockets' Raquel Walker starred in the girls' meet, earning the top spot in long jump with a leap of 17-11. She was also sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07 seconds.
Madi Wiggins had Whitehall's best finish in the meet, placing 19th in the shot put with a mark of 28-11.75.
