Hart posted a 2-2-1 record Monday at the high-level Unity Christian Invitational.
The
Pirates (6-2-3) defeated Kalamazoo Christian (25-23, 25-23) and Unity
Christian (25-12, 25-22) in the tournament. They lost matches to Jenison
(25-21, 25-17) and Grand Rapids West Catholic (25-19, 25-17) and tied
Portage Northern, losing game one 25-14 before taking game two 25-17.
"The girls had a solid night and
continued to play well against some high-level competition," Hart coach Shawn Bectel said.
Reese
Smith led the Hart offense with 30 kills on the day, and Peyton
Erickson added 18 with a .279 hitting percentage. Alayna Schiller paced
the defense with 55 digs, and Smith chipped in 38. Jenna Babbin served
seven aces without an error. Calyn Eisenlohr and Grace Tucker combined
for 72 assists.
