Shelby earned its third straight West Michigan Conference victory Wednesday by shutting out Fremont, 2-0.
The
Tigers (5-3, 3-1 WMC) scored once in each half. Christian Llanas opened
the scoring with an assist by Wesley Huls, then assisted himself on a
goal by Javier Cervantes in the second half.
Oliver Gorton made six saves in goal to earn the shutout.
"Overall, a good team performance, even when missing players," Shelby coach Cristian Arellao said. "Some of our JV players
came up and were able to help us out. We kept the pressure on in the second
half. Even though Fremont never gave up, we made adjustments and kept coming and we were able to keep a clean sheet."
