Whitehall competed at Friday's massive Michigan State Spartan
Invitational Friday, which annually brings hundreds of runners to East
Lansing.
The Vikings were without top runner Bobby Jazwinski,
but did take 19th place out of 32 scoring schools in the Division 2
boys' race. Rex Pumford led the team with an impressive 12th-place
finish out of 297 finishers, posting a time of 16:55.2. Ian Dennis
placed 77th in a time of 18:38.7.
Also for the Vikings, Scout
Freiheit finished 104th (19:17.5), Alex Winczewski was 120th (19:37.0)
and Jason Sheaffer took 205th place (21:21.7).
Two Viking
girls ran in the race, with Gabrielle Chevez earning a 27th-place finish
out of. 250 runners (21:01.3) and Reese Hesse finishing 101st
(23:29.7).
