Whitehall tennis snaps 7-match losing skid with lopsided win over Reeths-Puffer

WHITEHALL — Whitehall picked up its second dual win of the year to snap a seven-match losing skid Thursday against Reeths-Puffer, dominating in a 7-1 win.
The Vikings took all of their six wins on the court in straight sets and won the No. 4 doubles flight by default, as the Rockets do not at this point have a pair there.
Wyatt Burger worked the hardest for his win, fighting off a challenge from Henrik Ketner in their No. 1 doubles match before scoring a 7-6(2), 6-0 win. Jones McDowell and Scout Freiheit rolled to singles wins as well.
In the doubles flights, the Vikings overwhelmed the Rockets, winning all three contested matches by scores of 6-0, 6-1. Remington Whelpley/Lukas McKee, Jonathan Roberge/Jack Koegel and Liam Nicholas/Emery Askins took wins in the three doubles matches.
For the Rockets, Roman Ponce blanked Henry Chen to get R-P's lone point, 6-0, 6-0.
