Hart's defense dominated Monday's West Michigan Conference game against Orchard View, allowing only two shots on goal, but the Pirates were unable to get into the Cardinals' net either, and the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
"The Pirates did really well at possessing the ball from defense to up top, but Orchard View's defense was on point and kept us out of their net," Hart coach Guillermo Ortega said. "(Our) defense also did well in not allowing their playmakers to get the ball and try to control the game."
Ortega named Liam Larios-Mendez as player of the game for his efforts at center back. The Pirates (9-2-4, 5-1-3 WMC) will attempt to secure a top-2 placement in the conference when they face Ludington Wednesday. The Orioles have already clinched the WMC title.
