Leesa Marie Briggs, 58, passed away September 17, 2026 at the Poppen House in Muskegon. She was born to Stanley and Sharon Briggs on October 8, 1968.
Leesa lived in Calumet, Michigan (Keewenaw Peninsula), for 25 years before returning to Montague in 2023 to receive better medical treatment.
She worked at Wesley Marina, the Muskegon County Road Commission as a truck driver (snow plows), and as an inspector. She also attended Muskegon Community College before going to college in Houghton to become a civil engineer but, due to illness, was unable to finish.
She was a beautiful artist who built and repaired cars and boats and was a welder, a drummer, and a guitar and spoon player in Calumet and the surrounding area.
She is survived by her mother and father, Sharon and Stanley Briggs; and a sister, Tammy VanderLaan of Whitehall; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in Hancock, Michigan, on October 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.
