The annual White Lake Area Pumpkinfest Saturday, Oct. 10 promises its usual family-friendly fun, with many pumpkin-inspired events, contests, and features coming to downtown Montague.
The celebrations will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be highlighted as always by the traditional pumpkin roll down the Dowling Street hill. Participation in the roll is $1 if you bring your own pumpkins, or you can purchase them on site for $4. Rolling begins at 11 a.m.
Also during the Pumpkinfest, the Montague Farmer's Market and Artisan Market will be open, as they are each Saturday through October. The fun will also include a carved pumpkin contest, a pet costume contest, a pumpkin seed spitting contest, a 'biggest pumpkin' weigh-in, a 'best pumpkin pie' contest, various kids activities, entertainment, food vendors and much more.
An Arts and Crafts Fair will take place downtown as well, featuring vendors selling a wide variety of items including holiday decorations and home items, jewelry, clothing, photography, different forms of art, knitting and crochet, candles, wood crafts, food dips, candies and sweets, and more.
Want to get some exercise in the morning before Pumpkinfest? The White Lake Area Chamber & Visitor's Bureau will host the Harvest Hustle 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run, starting with the fun run at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30.
