Reeths-Puffer has spoken all year of wanting to take the whole team to state this season after Rocket star Sophia McCollum played alone the past two seasons. Tuesday, R-P played one of its best rounds of the season and secured that goal - along with a regional championship trophy.
The Rockets played one of their best rounds of the season and earned the title with a score of 368, taking the win over Grand Rapids South Christian (376) and Grand Rapids Christian (377). The win marked their third-ever regional title and first since 2018, but most importantly it extended the team season after missing out on state qualification by two strokes in 2025.
McCollum was rock solid as usual for R-P, scoring a 78 and taking second place overall. She finished her round with two consecutive birdies.
Aiding McCollum were her senior teammates, Ella Voorhies and Olivia Ambler. Voorhies continued her late-season surge by taking second on the team in scoring and ninth overall, shooting a 92. Ambler added a 95. Kayleigh Brown was the Rockets' No. 4 scorer, with a 103. Abby Davis posted a 116.
