Hart volleyball goes 0-3 at Spring Lake Quad

Hart took three defeats Saturday at the Spring Lake Quad, dropping matches to the host Lakers, Livonia and Allendale.
All three defeats were in three straight games. The Pirates (5-7-1) came closest to beating Spring Lake, falling 27-25, 25-15, 25-19. The Livonia match was scored 25-17, 25-19, 25-21, and the loss to Allendale was by a score of 25-10, 25-18, 25-14.
"We faced some tough competition today and I think a long week of volleyball and school caught up to us," Hart coach Shawn Bectel said. "The girls played some tough sets but just couldn't get over the hump."
The Pirates served well, putting 92.5% of attempts into play. Reese Smith led the team with six aces, and also posted a team-best 19 kills on the day. Alayna Schiller racked up 67 digs, with Smith contributing 32 and Caydence Bateson chipping in 30. Cali Eisenlohr had 33 assists.
