Montague volleyball edged out by Fremont in conference opener

Montague played a very tough match with Fremont Tuesday to open West Michigan Conference Lakes action, falling in four games, 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24.
Montague dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-1 in the WMC Lakes.
The Wildcats' top servers were Gentry Knop, Reagan Cederquist and Ella Evans, who combined for 50 service points and eight aces. Knop had four of those aces to lead the team. She was also the team's top defensive performer, totaling 22 digs. Cederquist added 18.
On offense, Cederquist had 10 kills, and Emalee McGee had 22 assists to go with eight kills.
