Committed to the advancement of the arts in Oceana County, the Pentwater Arts Council recently awarded over $7,000 in grant money to six Oceana County teachers. The areas of art-related subject matter include art, vocal and instrumental music, graphic design, drama and performing arts. The 2025 Teacher Grant Awardees are:
• Carrie Jeruzal, Pentwater Schools Art Department
• Kirstie DeVries, Hart High School Media Department
• Suzanne VanderZanden, Hart Middle & High Schools Performing Arts
• Gustavo Morales, Shelby Public Schools Music Department
• Stephanie Clark, Shelby Elementary School Art Department
• Kelsy Baune, Shelby Elementary School, K-5 STEAM Department
Since the inception of the Oceana Teacher Grant in 2022, the Pentwater Arts Council has awarded grant money totaling $16,100 to Oceana teachers by application. The grant award criteria includes innovation and creativity of the proposed project, a clear project description with a cost-effective budget and the proposed project impact on students.
