After splitting two regular-season meetings, Pentwater was dominant Wednesday against Mason County Eastern in the district semifinals in Baldwin, rolling to a 70-45 victory.
With the win, Pentwater advanced to Friday's finals against the district host and top seed Panthers, who defeated the Falcons twice in the regular season.
The Falcons (7-15) overwhelmed MCE from the beginning, holding the Cardinals to only five first-quarter points and building a 37-16 lead by halftime.
"Even when MCE made a push in the third, Pentwater answered every run and closed the door in the fourth," Pentwater coach Ashley Lubera said.
Brody Austin spearheaded the Falcons with a terrific all-around game, scoring 28 points - 10 in the fourth quarter - and grabbing nine rebounds.
"He was aggressive, confident, and unstoppable around the rim," Lubera said.
Austin got plenty of help from post running mate Abram Kieda, who added 12 points and eight boards. Wyatt Roberts scored 13 points, and Jacobo Martin chipped in 11. Martin also had six steals and passed out four assists.
"Every player embraced their role, trusted one another, and executed when it mattered most," Lubera said.
