Pentwater's impressive work on the boards was a major factor
Tuesday night as it defeated Grand Traverse Academy, 57-42, avenging a
loss earlier this season.
"The Falcons dominated the offensive glass, creating second-chance
opportunities that kept the pressure on all night," Falcons' coach Ashley Lubera said. "Their defensive
intensity fueled the offense, leading to fast-break chances and
momentum-shifting plays."
Pentwater (4-12, 3-8 West Michigan D
League) built an eight-point lead in the first quarter and maintained
it the rest of the way behind a multifaceted performance. Jacobo Martin
was the standout of the night, very nearly securing a triple-double. He
had 15 points, 10 steals and nine rebounds.
Also for
the Falcons, Brody Austin scored 19 points and grabbed six boards, and
Abram Kieda had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Ben Roberson pulled down 13
boards as well.
"If this chemistry and effort continues, this team will find success heading into the postseason," Lubera said
