Shelby girls basketball battles, but falls to Fremont in WMC cross-division play

Shelby lost a hard-fought game to Fremont Tuesday in West Michigan Conference cross-division action, 58-55.
The Packers are one win away from tying Ludington - the only other team to defeat Shelby this season - for the WMC Lakes championship.
Shelby led 28-24 at halftime before Fremont rallied in the second half. Neither team ever led by more than five points in the game.
Michelle Peterson and Annabelle Stark each had 15 points to lead the Tigers. Jayna Burmeister had 12 points and 18 rebounds. Stark also pulled down eight boards. Shelby's offense struggled overall, shooting just under 27% from the field, and the Tigers also made only 14-of-25 free throws.
