Hart blanked Whitehall Monday, 5-0, to open West Michigan Conference play with a victory.
The
host Pirates (3-2, 1-0 WMC) controlled the first half, leading 2-0 at
the break, and quickly opened the second half with another goal just
over 30 seconds after kickoff to create more breathing room.
Natalie
Rosema paced the Hart offense with an impressive three-goal game,
including that pivotal third goal, which saw Rosema knock in a header
off a long assist from Rilynn Porter.
Addison Barefoot had two
goals in the game, and Olivia Bradley recorded two assists. Keeper
Baleigh Klotz made one save for the shutout in net.
"The Pirates' combined defense of Lili VanAgtmael, Navaeh Reyna, Ari Vela,
April Chaffee, Marissa Moul, Prestyn Huck, and Leila Zamora kept the
Vikings to just one shot in the game," Hart coach Joe Gilbert said.
