Hesperia leaders met with the DEQ to discuss the dam as heavy rains continued to cause issues in the area. The Maple Island Road bridge is currently closed. Village President Mike Farber said local personnel are not yet too concerned, as the spillway is doing its job as designed; however, a flood watch has been issued for downstream residences for cautionary purposes.
