Hesperia struggled to get the bats going Friday against Fremont, losing a doubleheader by scores of 8-1 and 4-1.
The
Panthers' Weston Hasted pitched well in game two and took his team into
the sixth and final inning with a 1-1 tie and a chance to win it, but
Fremont pushed across three unearned runs in the sixth.
In
addition to his strong work on the mound - one earned run allowed on
seven hits, with eight strikeouts - Hasted also got all three of
Hesperia's hits in the nightcap, coming a home run shy of the cycle, and
drove in the Panthers' only run with a double.
In game one,
Marshall Norris collected two of Hesperia's four hits and scored a run.
Fremont scored four runs in the third inning and three in the fourth to
grab control of the game.
