Hesperia softball on the short end of losses to Fremont

Hesperia took a doubleheader loss at the hands of nearby rival Fremont Friday, dropping games 11-0 and 17-4.
The Panthers hung with Fremont for a couple of innings in game one, but a six-run third gave the hosts control of the game. Five different Hesperia players had a hit each in the game.
Hesperia got out to a good start in game two, grabbing a 3-0 lead in the first inning with Jeri Ward's RBI single the big hit, but the Panthers missed a chance to add to that lead after having the bases loaded with only one out. The Packers then rallied and scored multiple runs in all four innings they batted to win the game by mercy rule.
Four Panthers had one hit apiece and the team also drew four walks in the game. Sarissa Conkle got two outs in relief without allowing a hit, but six Panther errors led to 12 unearned Fremont runs.
