Linda Kay Hasty, 77, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. She was born October 4, 1948, the daughter of Clarence O. and Peggy L. (Miller) Amstutz.
Linda was a lifelong resident of Oceana County. She graduated from Hart High School in 1967 and married Jan Russell Hasty in 1969. Soon after, they began building their family, which remained the center of her life.
Linda spent many years devoted to raising her children with love and care. Once they were older and in school, she returned to work — famously motivated by her wish for a new furniture set, a story her family still smiles about. She began her career at Gray and Company, where she worked tirelessly for 20 years and became a respected and well-loved foreman.
Linda was a devoted and hardworking woman who gave much of her time and energy to her job. She was also known for her strong will and independence. She could be stubborn at times — especially when it came to mowing her lawn, which she insisted on doing herself because no one else could do it quite right.
In her quieter moments, Linda found joy in gardening and took great pride in the flowers she lovingly cared for.
Linda is survived by: her children, Lori (Chad Jonassen) Hasty, Teri Hasty and Chad (Jenny) Hasty; grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Gage, Arabella, Wyatt, Waylon, Dayle, Elizabeth (Jared) and Ryan (Shelby); 6 great-grandkids, with two on the way; brothers, Tom (Linda) Amstutz and Mike Amstutz; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Linda was preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence O. and Peggy L. (Miller) Amstutz; husband, Jan Russell Hasty; and siblings, Karen Gale and John Amstutz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please continue to check back for further details.
Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, was in charge of arrangements.
