Shelby kept the good times rolling Friday against Bear Lake, rolling to 9-4 and 14-6 victories to boost its record to 8-0.
The
Tigers ripped off four runs in the first inning of game one and held a
good cushion throughout the game. Jordan Wolting's RBI single
spearheaded the early outburst. Wolting later doubled and scored three
times in the game. Jaedyn Allen and Izzy Rudat each came across the
plate twice.
Wolting also pitched the game, striking out 11 and allowing only four hits and two earned runs in six innings.
In
game two, the Tigers exploded for six runs in the second inning and
scored four times in the fifth to polish off the win. Wolting and Allen
each had first-inning RBI singles, and Shelby batters took advantage of
several Bear Lake walks in the second, with Wolting adding another RBI
single.
Wolting collected three hits in all, as did Allen, who
drove in three runs and scored twice. Emma Stovall scored three times,
and so did Ciara Anzaldua. Wolting again pitched the game, allowing five
hits and two earned runs in six innings. She struck out five.
