Hart track teams each finish 5th at Shepherd Invite; Flores wins girls high jump

Hart's teams each placed fifth in the larger-school divisions at Friday's Shepherd Invitational, which featured some impressive competition.
The divisions were scored separately for medaling purposes. 
Joselyn Flores was the overall meet champion in high jump, scoring a mark of 5-2. Addison Hain took second in the 100-meter dash and had a personal best time of 13.01 seconds, and Shelbie Choponis was third in the discus with a throw of 108-10. The Pirates also earned a top-5 finish in the 800-meter relay, with Flores, Hain, Ellie Gross and Natalie Rosema taking fourth with a time of 1:53.7.
Mason Opalewski was the top finisher for the Pirate boys, placing second in the 1,600-meter run with a personal best time of 4:39.5. He was first among the large-school division. Trevor Vander Kodde also won the division in the 800-meter run, placing fifth overall with a time of 2:04.5. Jagger Lenon was fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 11-6.
