Hesperia swept a doubleheader from Mason County Eastern Thursday by
scores of 6-0 and 10-4, scoring its second and third wins of the
season.
Weston Hasted and Abe Escobedo teamed up on a two-hit
shutout in game one, each pitching three innings. Hasted fanned six
batters and Escobedo struck out three.
Hesperia also got two
hits, but drew 11 walks and turned many of them into runs. Tucker Bolles
drew three walks and got a hit, scoring two runs. Landyn Tiefenbach got
a hit and drove in two runs.
The Panthers scored six times in
the first inning of game two, getting four run-scoring singles. Nate
Sherburn and Escobedo each drove in two runs with their singles.
Hasted
and Evan Conkle each got three hits in the win, and Daylen Castillo and
Escobedo had two apiece. Escobedo drove in four runs. Castillo pitched
two shutout innings and struck out four.
