Shelby golfer Titan Carter locked up his third consecutive medalist
honor in the West Michigan Conference Rivers at Thursday's North
Muskegon jamboree, but the Norsemen bested the Tigers for the team
title.
The Tigers entered the final jamboree with a
three-stroke lead over the Norsemen in the league standings, but North
Muskegon outscored Shelby 161-175 to finish the season 11 strokes up.
Ravenna actually took first Thursday, with North Muskegon second and
Shelby third.
Carter posted an even-par 35 to earn his
medalist award. He made two birdies during the round and ended the
league season having taken first place in all seven jamborees.
Ivan
Carter was second in scoring for Shelby Thursday, shooting a 44. He
made a birdie during his round. Andrew Arquette notched a 47 for the
Tigers, and Ryan Schouten had a 49.
Shelby's "Three Amigos" - the Carter brothers and Rafael Davis - all secured all-WMC Rivers first team honors for the season.
Also
Thursday, Hart finished fifth with a team score of 184, and Hesperia
was sixth with a 190. Hunter Loudermilk shot a 43, good for a
ninth-place tie, and made a birdie. Logan Dean posted a 44, Joel Knobel
had a 46, and Wyatt Johnson shot a 51.
For Hesperia, Alex
Scott had a 43 to also place in a tie for ninth. Logan Kammer had a 47
and Taylor Ackerberg and Evan Conkle each shot a 50.
