Whitehall lost a pair of close games to Hamilton Tuesday, 4-3 and 3-1, as it prepared for this weekend's district tournament.
The
Vikings scored twice in the seventh inning and were close to tying it
up with two runners on base, but the Hawkeyes were able to hang on for
the win. Noah Peterson had a RBI double in the seventh and Jaxon Kulesza
drove him in with a single.
Cody Manzo had two hits in the game, and Brayden Kelley pitched two shutout innings of relief.
The
Vikes took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of game two on a RBI single
by Ethan Deshong, but they only managed one more hit after that. Manzo
drew a pair of walks. Emmett Hecht pitched three strong innings,
allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out four.
