Aces galore highlight the action at Hukill Memorial Fireman's Scramble

The team of Jim Current, Mike DeRuiter, Chris Griffin, and Wes Vanderwilk secured the win May 30-31 at the Bob & Maryann Hukill Memorial Fireman’s Spring Scramble at Benona Shores Golf Course, which raises money for the Shelby-Benona Fire Department.
The quartet posted a two-day total of 49-52-101, 19 under par, in the best-ball format. They edged out Shawn Pranger, Tyler McDonald, Justin Wilson and Derrick Woodland, who had a score of 50-52-102.
Other flight winners included first flight winners Brock Carlston, Brendan Sturr, Taylor Moore and and Ryan Magerowski; second flight winners Steve Depouw, Derrick Bell, Cole Ferguson and Brian Pastoor; and third flight winners John Dorman, Mario Flores, Chris Williams and Rick DeCair.
Remarkably, the tournament yielded five holes-in-one along the way. Ben Coon, Doug Pretty, Len Fouty, Jacob Bialik and Chris Cullen made aces during the tournament.
With sunny skies both days and great cooperation, the course said the event ran smoothly and on schedule all weekend long.
