Hesperia finished second in Tuesday's West Michigan Conference Rivers opening jamboree in Manistee, with a team score of 215.
The
Panthers were 20 strokes behind conference power North Muskegon.
Shelby, competing in its first varsity conference jamboree in girls
golf, debuted solidly, placing third with a 224.
Britney Budde
led all local players by shooting a 48 for Hesperia, including three
pars. Her score was good for third place overall. Sarissa Conkle took
fifth by shooting a 51, and Macy Kammer was ninth with a 55. Cora Sharp
had a 61 to round out the team's scoring.
Bailey Blohm paced
the Tigers with a 53, finishing seventh overall. Kadence Blohm had a 55,
and Jordan Wolting and Nicole Ortiz each shot a 58.
