Project Be the Light announces Power Prayer Retreat

Project Be the Light is offering a Power Prayer Retreat from Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at Hart United Methodist Church, 308 S. State St. in Hart. These three days will feature dynamic worship, powerful teaching, prayer, laughter, tears, creativity and space to encounter God. The Power Prayer Retreat is designed to help attendees discover how prayer can transform their lives, strengthen them through the trials they all face, and lead them into a deeper, more meaningful and intimate relationship with God.
Julie VanderMeulen will lead attendees in discussion of the aspects of The Lord’s Prayer through teaching sessions and reflection times. The discussion will include why one prays, who our heavenly Father is, what to pray for and how to enhance one's prayer life.
Each teaching session will be followed by small-group experiences designed to stir reflection, imagination and the creative spirit. There will be opportunities to worship, journal, create, pray, play, laugh and even make room for tears.
This retreat is free, with meals and snacks included. Friday and Saturday evenings will continue with outdoor fireside worship, including a special caravan to Charles Mears State Park in Pentwater for worship on the beach at sunset.
Throughout the weekend, all will have the opportunity to experience prayer both individually and as a group. Although the retreat is packed with meaningful experiences, the schedule also leaves room to breathe — to explore the City of Hart, sit quietly by the lake, take a hike, kayak, spend time at the church, paint or explore prayer stations.
Organizers encourage those who would like to attend to take three days away from the demands of everyday life and invest them in knowing God better, hearing His voice and developing a richer and more powerful prayer life.
