Three county schools competed Tuesday at the Hoka Postal Nationals Two-Mile Invitational, highlighted by Shelby teams each taking third place.
Hesperia's boys team finished fifth, and Pentwater also competed in the race.
Each Shelby team had a third-place individual finisher, with Parker Weirich posting a time of 11:13.9 in the boys' race and Lydia Soelberg finishing in 13:23.4 in the girls' race.
Kathryn Beyer finished fourth for the Shelby girls with a time of 13:50.0, and Ava Lamberg was 15th in a time of 16:28.7. Michelle Peterson was 18th (16:50.9) and Emilia Beckholt was 19th (17:12.4).
Brycen Brown placed sixth for the Shelby boys in a time of 11:18.3. Jaciel Moreno took 18th (12:35.8), Emilio Bustos was 30th (13:48.3) and Jackson Sines finished 34th (14:35.4).
Onyx Davila led the Panther boys with a time of 12:00.4, placing 11th. Andy Lopez-Garcia was 14th (12:14.7) and Zed Bierman was 25th (13:31.7). Also for Hesperia, Paul Winchel finished 27th (13:37.4) and Tony Lopez-Garcia was 29th (13:47.9).
Rokhaya Ruhstorfer took 16th for the Panther girls, which could not post a team score. Her time was 16:35.3. Taylor Leeball (22:22.0) and Sarah Funk (26:14.2) placed 29th and 30th respectively.
Bailey Case was the Falcons' top finisher, placing fifth for the girls team with a time of 14:02.6. Valerie Smith finished 23rd (18:06.7) and Maggie Jorissen was 24th (18:15.0). In the boys' race, Tyler Zimmer was 22nd (12:52.7) and Ben Roberson was 28th (13:47.6).
