“No one’s luckier than me!” said Lee.
It’s also true that no one’s luckier than those who got to know Lee.
After a life of family, friends, and adventure, Lee Rogers died peacefully in her Phoenix home on October 7, 2026.
She was the much-loved sister of Cindy Stonerock, daughter of John and Irma Porter, and wife of the late Gordon Rogers.
She was a devoted mother to Mike and Julie and embraced the families they built and the friends who became family along the way.
Lee loved Mike’s wife, Liz, and treasured her grandchildren, Brett and Lauren. She welcomed Trent, Lauren’s husband, and Sarayah, Brett’s wife, into the family. And she delighted in her great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Clarke, and Clara.
Lee loved her family, but she had many other loves as well.
She loved travel, movies, tennis, dirty martinis, piping hot enchiladas, stinky cheese on crusty bread, and noodles. Lee loved noodles. She loved the band Pink Martini, Frank Sinatra, and the song “Hotel California." But what she loved most was Lake Michigan.
It’s at the family cottage on that lake that she started the nightly ritual of saying “Goodnight To The Lake," sitting on the porch swing with a nightcap in hand. This small act captured her ability to appreciate a place, a moment, and the life she was fortunate enough to live.
Her husband, Gordie, was her greatest love of all. To her he was Gords and he called her Peeps (yep, like the Easter treats). He was her best friend, partner, and the person with whom she shared the great adventure of her life.
After Gordie died, Lee missed her love terribly and was eager to be with him again. They are, no doubt, sitting side by side saying “Goodnight To The Lake.”
A Celebration of Life will be held November 1 in Phoenix and next summer in Pentwater. Details to follow.
