After struggling to a six-game losing skid, Hart was able to end its season on a high note Friday night, routing Wyoming on the road, 50-16.
The hapless Wolves ended the season 0-9 and lost all their games by 20 points or more, so they provided exactly what Hart (3-6) needed to end the season. The Pirates dominated the game throughout, racking up over 400 rushing yards and gaining over 10 yards per carry. By the time Wyoming got on the board in the third quarter, the Pirates had already activated the running clock thanks their 36-0 lead.
Senior backs Haegan Hansen and Keaghan Monroe combined for five of Hart's seven touchdowns in the game, ending their careers in style. Hansen got in the end zone three times in the first half, and Monroe had a pair of touchdowns. Junior Sawyer Boos also found pay dirt twice.
Hart's offense was remarkably efficient, converting all six of its third downs. The Pirates were also only called for two penalties in the game.
Boos led the Pirates in yardage, racking up 175 rushing yards on only nine carries. He also caught Hart's only completion, from Kolton Rockwell, for 22 yards. Monroe added 86 yards and Hansen ran for 61.
Monroe led Hart's defense with six solo tackles, including one for a loss, and five assists. Boos had 1.5 tackles for a loss. Rockwell and Kole Thomas each had an interception on defense.
