Rex Alan Powers, 76, of Hart, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Rex was born on March 16, 1950, in Hart, Michigan, the son of Floyd and Wilma (Terryn) Powers. A lifelong part of the Hart community, Rex will be remembered most for the love he shared with his family and the memories he created throughout his life.
Rex was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He treasured the time he spent with the people he loved and leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with them. His life was defined not only by the years he lived, but by the love, kindness, and memories he gave to those around him.
Rex is survived by: his son, Alan (Amanda) Powers; and grandson, Elliot Powers.
Rex was preceded in death by: his parents, Floyd and Wilma Powers; and his beloved wife, Sally (McLouth) Powers.
Those who knew Rex will remember him with love and gratitude. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue through his family, the stories they share, and the love he gave throughout his life.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, Michigan 49455, with Pastor Bill Ryder officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
A luncheon will be provided following the service at Faith Christian Fellowship, 400 S. Hart St., Hart, MI 49420.
