The 2026 midterm elections will take place Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A list of specific township voting locations, addresses and hours is available at mvic.sos.state.mi.us.
Early voting will be held from Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Hart Community Center, 407 N. State St. in Hart. Hours for early voting will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily (weekends included), with the exception of Wednesday, when early voting will be open from noon to 8 p.m.
Currently there are no write-in candidates for the upcoming vacancy for the District 2 (Ferry and Shelby townships) county commissioner seat. Those wishing to become a write-in candidate for that position or any other must file with the Oceana County Clerk’s office by Friday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.
According to Oceana County Clerk Melanie Coon, individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible to vote and need to be registered. From now through Tuesday, Nov. 3, any unregistered voter wishing to vote in the Nov. 3 elections must register in person. Potential voters will need to present proof of residency documentation, such as a driver’s license, vehicle registration, pay stub or tax bill, to complete their registration. Please refer to the above website for information on where to register in person.
After checking in with an election volunteer, registered voters who choose to partake in early voting at the Hart Community Centerwill be allowed to mark their ballot and place it in the tabulator, just as they would on Election Day.
