Rusty Streblow, age 73, passed away peacefully at home from Alzheimer’s, August 22, 2025.
Born to Clarence and Mary Jane Streblow, August 17, 1952, he grew up in Montague, where he graduated in 1970.
He married Susan Rillema from Whitehall, and they spent 53 years together.
Rusty was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He was honored to serve the Lord as Elder, Trustee and Missionary.
A carpenter by trade, he was successful in what he built from the ground up.
At age 22, he built his first home, where the family still resides in Claybanks Township.
Rusty loved the outdoors and taught his children the same. He especially loved fishing, with walleye being at the top of the list.
While we will miss him, we all have many wonderful memories to share.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Jane (Blackburn) Streblow and brother John Streblow.
Surviving family: his wife Susan; son Kyle (Lea) Streblow of Whitehall; daughter September (Simon) Dykema and beloved grandson Rylan Dykema of Montague; brother Ben Streblow of Whitehall; brother-in-law Jack (Karolyn) Rillema of Whitehall; sister-in-law Jill (Kris) Landman of Grand Haven; sister-in-law Judi Morsinkhoff of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Streblow of the Upper Peninsula; and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Rusty is Friday, September 12, 2025, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m., with luncheon to follow. St. James Lutheran Church, 8945 Stebbins, Montague, Michigan. Reverend Eric Nelson officiating.
