Hart finished a strong third place at Saturday's season-opening Zeeland West Invitational, posting a 4-1 record.
The Pirates capped the day with a 40-29 win over Fruitport in the third-place match. The Pirates went 3-0 in their pool, defeating Dowagiac (47-29), Ortonville Brandon (81-0) and Zeeland West (72-12), before losing a semifinal clash with longtime powerhouse Yale, 47-32.
Four Hart wrestlers earned perfect 5-0 marks in their matches, highlighted by Adrian Lara and Logan Jorissen. The heavyweight Lara pinned four of his opponents and recorded a technical fall, and Jorissen posted three pins and a tough decision, also picking up a win by injury default.
Halen Boos and Haegan Hansen were also 5-0. Each wrestler had a pin, and Hansen also recorded a technical fall and a decision; Boos had a major decision and two decision wins.
