Hart didn't start fast Tuesday night against Oakridge in West Michigan Conference cross-division play, but the Pirates took command of the game over the final three quarters of a 62-39 win.
"Much of that can be attributed (to) Oakridge and their growth as a team over the season," Hart coach Nick Bronsema said of his team's slow start; the Eagles led for a good chunk of the first quarter. "I think it took our guys by surprise a little. But we were able to
regroup, and luckily we are a relatively deep team as our reserves were
able to come in and contribute in a positive manner."
Bronsema credited the Vander Kodde brothers, Bryce and Trevor, plus Grant Ackley, with major contributions off the bench.
Caleb Ackley led a balanced scoring effort by Hart with 14 points. Kolton Rockwell added 13 points and had five steals, and Jagger Lenon had 11 points.
