Baldwin was too much for Pentwater in Friday's district finals game in Baldwin, as the Panthers won 66-32.
The Falcons did well to keep Baldwin from pulling away early and trailed 25-14 at halftime, limiting the potent Panther offense. Baldwin broke through in the third quarter, though, scoring 23 points in that time and securing the win.
"The district finals gave (us) an opportunity to challenge the conference champions, but the Baldwin Panthers
showcased exceptional defense and earned the win," Pentwater coach Ashley Lubera said. "Still, the Falcons
fought through early injuries, adversity, and tough losses (this season) without ever
giving up."
Brody Austin led Pentwater Friday with 15 points, 11 of them in the second half. He also pulled down six rebounds. Jacobo Martin swiped six steals. Baldwin's Pierre Johnson led all scorers with 26 points.
"I couldn’t be more proud of this team’s resilience and heart," Lubera said. "Thank
you, seniors, for your leadership, dedication, and everything you gave
to this program this season."
