Doris (Coon) Evans passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. She was born March 18, 1936, to Burton and Carrie (Scovill) Coon in Pentwater, Michigan.
Doris is survived by: her daughter, Kim Koster; son, Gregory (Marie) Hodges; bonus children, Marla (Scott) Kather, Vicky (James) Merills, Jackie (Richard) Merill and Lisa (Chad) Steendam; grandchildren, Eric Hodges and his children, Isaac Hodges and Sydni Hodges; Andrew (Cassandra) Hodges and their children, Jack Hodges and Lucy Hodges; James Hodges; and Lea (Wayne) Tye; as well as many bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Roger Evans; daughter, Cindy Hodges Rowe; and siblings, George Coon, Joseph Coon, Larry Coon, Burton Coon, Margaret Kistler, Ann Gerber and Liz Pider.
Doris was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1–3 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Oceana Eagles, 4535 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, MI 49420.
