Shelby routed Orchard View Wednesday night, 7-0, to stay in contention in the West Michigan Conference.
The
Tigers (6-1-2, 4-1-1 WMC) ripped off five first-half goals, and coach
Joe Gorton said they may have had more offensive success if not for the
cold and wet conditions leading to "some misfires."
Maria
Hayes and Kylee Hanson each scored two goals for Shelby in the win, and
Kylie Brown, Olivia Rogers and Annabelle Stark each added one goal.
"We were able to
dominate possession throughout the contest," Gorton said. "We had a lot of shots on
goal, and really built some solid passing connections."
