Reeths-Puffer golf takes 5th at O-K Green finals; Brown gets postseason award for 4th straight year

Reeths-Puffer finished fifth in the O-K Green Conference finals Thursday at Muskegon Country Club, though it was close to a successful finish. The Rockets' team score of 342 was only 14 strokes behind second-place Jenison and eight behind third-place Caledonia. League powerhouse Mona Shores easily took the title.
Kristian Brown placed ninth overall in the meet, shooting an 81 and making a birdie on three holes. Brown's season-long performance secured him all-conference honorable mention honors.
“We play in a tough conference. There are a lot of very good golfers," Rockets' coach Matt Pallett said. "Kristian proved once again that he is one of them. For the fourth straight year he has earned either all-conference or all-conference honorable mention. That is quite an accomplishment.”
Following Brown was Jordan Benkert with an 84, including one birdie. Beckett Mathes carded an 88 and produced one of the day's highlights for R-P when he made a chip-in eagle on the par-4 seventh hole. Ian Vokal rounded out Rocket scoring with an 89.
