Adelina (Nina) Gracia, 83, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Adelina was born on July 25, 1942, to Abel Acuña and Maria Acuña. She lived a life marked by quiet faith, service and devotion to her family. A retired teacher’s aide, Adelina found great joy in nurturing young lives, offering patience, encouragement and kindness to every child she served.
A woman of deep faith, Adelina trusted in the Lord throughout her life and reflected His love through her gentle spirit and servant’s heart. She believed firmly in the promise of eternal life, holding close the words of Scripture: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). Her faith was a steady source of comfort and strength to those around her.
Adelina loved tending her garden and growing flowers, finding beauty and peace in God’s creation. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family gathered around the table to share meals, laughter and memories. To her children, she was a loving mother, trusted friend and faithful example. To her grandchildren, she was simply “Grandma Grac,” a cherished presence whose love was constant and unconditional.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cesar Gracia. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Anne and Paul Byl, Elizabeth and Lee Ludwig, Maggie and Scott Granlee, Lori and Tom Schummer, Cindy and Phil Delgado; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family members who will continue to honor her legacy of faith and love.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC Whitehall), 900 S. Warner St., Whitehall, Michigan, on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m. Adelina’s family takes comfort in the promise found in God’s Word: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:23).
Arrangements are with Harris Funeral Home.
