Nancy Josephine Hallack

Nancy Josephine (Salisbury) Hallack, 95 of Shelby, Michigan passed away from her life here on earth, to her eternal life in heaven, Saturday, June 13, 2026. Nancy was born June 11, 1931 to Noah and Lillian (Takala) Salisbury in Detroit, Michigan.
Nancy moved to Shelby when she was a young girl, where she attended Ames School in Shelby Township. Following graduation from Hart High School in 1949, Nancy attended Calvin College for one year, then worked for Bell Telephone.
Nancy married Clinton Ernest Hallack on January 18, 1952. Together they raised five children on Hallack Farms, where they operated a dairy farm and raised fruit. Her children attended the Brooks School, and Nancy often credited the school for fostering the close neighborhood relationships she was able to enjoy.
As a wife and mother, Nancy would go on to serve and lead in many roles within her family, her church, and the community. Though fiercely independent, she appreciated the love and support of her large family, Shelby Congregational UCC, of which she was a longtime member, their Jolly Farm Bureau group, and her Red Hat Ladies.
After raising her family, she went back to college, obtained her Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University, and worked as a caseworker for Community Mental Health until her retirement.
Some of the things that were most important to Nancy were her faith, her family, and her home. As she began to age, her one wish was that she be able to remain at home to the end. Her family will always be grateful they were able to honor that request.
Nancy's remarkable legacy lives on in her children, Jerianne (Ronald) Block, Stanley (Sharon) Hallack, Daniel (Bernice) Hallack, and Kerry (Jeanne) Hallack; grandchildren, James (Samantha) Block, Stefanie (Casey) Wellnitz, Christopher Block, Megan (Calvin) Roskam, Lauren (Adam) Fenton, Jason (Tricia) Hallack, Amber (Christopher) Burden, Zachary (Shelbey) Thocher, Kyle Thocher, Jeremy (Heather) Hallack, Kevin (Crystal) Hallack and Samantha Hallack; great-grandchildren, Ian, Connor and Gavin Block, Knox and Fern Roskam, Presley and Beckett Fenton, Liam and Ella Hallack, Easton and Bailey Burden, Alexis and Athena Thocher, Hunter Johnson, Lillian, Grace, Clinton and Isabella Hallack, and Max Munn; niece, Ann Fodrocy; and nephews, Bradford Lowell and Dwayne (Thelma) Hallack.
Nancy was preceded in death by: her parents; infant sister Phyllis; husband of 58 years, Clint; son, James Hallack; granddaughter, Kirsten Melissa Block; sister, Amy Lowell; niece, Dominique Lowell; and great-nephew, Elijah Lowell.
