Leon Dean Twiss, 93, of Montague, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was born August 20, 1932, in Newaygo County, at the family farm, the son of Don and Shirley (Cole) Twiss.
Leon is survived by: his wife of 71 years, Leona (Stapel); children, Jill (Eric) McFadden, Dean (Robyn) Twiss, Heidi (Pat) Lombard, Amy (Steve) Elwell and Brad (Joyce) Twiss; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Donald Twiss.
Leon was preceded in death by: his parents, Don and Shirley, and his sister, Edna Hittle.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Flower Creek Cemetery, 8750 S. 44th Ave., Montague, Michigan 49437, with immediate family.
Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
